Cindie Herrick - Director

This will be Cindie's 15th year at Texas Assault and 26th overall. Attending Sharpstown High School in Houston she lettered all 4 years in Volleyball, Basketball and Tennis. Receiving a full ride to Howard Payne University in volleyball she was named all-conference her Soph., Jr. and Senior year. After graduation she became a coach and teacher in Fort Worth at Brewer High School. Offered a position at Mid Cities she was able to fulfill her love of the game and still have some quality time for the other priorities in her life. As a director she believes that club is the key to a college seeking athlete.

Lisa Yost- Director - 17Kaepa

This is Lisa's 21st year coaching volleyball and her 3rd with Texas Assault. She has coached all age groups at one time or another. Her club coaching experience includes Albuquerque VBC (2 years), High voltage volleyball club of Northern California (2 years) , Take it by Storm VBC (2 years), Intensity VBC New Jersey (3 years), and Velocity VBC (2 years). Lisa has assisted with and conducted camps and clinics across the country. Lisa played for the University of New Mexico from 1988-1992 and went on to play for the Sacramento Stars (women's professional volleyball league) 1994-1996. Lisa is IMPACT Certified.

MaToya Parker - 18Kaepa

Coach Ma Toya Parker has currently devoted 4 years to the Texas Assault Family! She has coach many age groups from 12’s up to 18’s.This year is will be leading the 18 Kaepa Team aka: The Wolf Pack! Currently she is also the head coach of the 8th grade LMST state championship team from Prince of Peace where she is also the assistant varsity softball coach!

MaToya's playing experience includes 4 year Varsity All-American, first team all district four years straight at North Garland High School, where she was named MVP 3 of 4 years and named to Who's Who Among America's Athletes. Also during her athletic career she played 4 years of varsity basketball and was named All-American and first team all district. Player of the year in both sports her senior year. She finished her athletic endeavors at the University of Texas of Dallas where she earned Rookie of the year! From that point she has dedicated her time to improving, teaching, and strengthening our youth of today! She is currently IMPACT certified! She has also taken many players to the next level of their athletic journey.

Coach Parker has been guiding many young athletes through private lessons for several years and many more to come!

Alicia Jacobs - 17Kaepa-Assistant

This is Alicia's 3rd year with Assault and 4th coaching with Lisa Yost. Alicia has been playing volleyball since in the 7th grade and aspires to coach high school volleyball and teach math.

Alicia played 4 years of volleyball at Bonham

High School (three years as captain) and was

All-District Setter, 1st Team All-District, and was named All-Texomaland Setter. Alicia is IMPACT certified.

I started coaching at RL Turner High School in 1998. I was a Freshman coach the first two years then moved up to JV my last year. In 2001 I moved over to McKinney as the JV/Varsity assistant coach for the next two years. I have been involved with Texas assault since 1997 coaching many different age groups. I am looking forward to a great season this year!

Mike Fiorentino - 16Kaepa

Mike starts his 10th year with Texas Assault. He has become one of the most respected coaches in the North Texas Region. He coached 1 year for SVAA before coming to Assault. Over the past 7 years he has coached our top 13's through 18's and has led his teams to several tournament championships and an appearance at the Open Nationals. Mike has been playing volleyball for over 15 years, with the past 10 years at an OPEN level. During this time he has played in three AVP Qualifiers and Sand/Grass Doubles tournaments in North Texas, South Texas, Florida, Louisiana, Arkansas and Colorado. Mike has been doing private lessons for athletes all over the Metroplex for the past 6 years.

Taryn Anderson - 16National

This is Taryn's third year coaching for Texas Assault. Prior to Assault, she coached one season of high school volleyball for La Jolla Country Day School (La Jolla, CA) and worked camps for the Academy of Our Lady of Peace (San Diego, California). She played volleyball, basketball and track in high school and went on to play all three at a collegiate level. As a four year starter for University of Dallas Women's Volleyball(2003-2007) she gained experience playing middle blocker, outside Hitter, and right side.

Lyndsey Beene - 15Kaepa

Lyndsey starts her 4th year with Texas Assault. Prior to Texas Assault, Lyndsey coached one year for TAV and has coached Assault's 12 Kaepa, 15 Kaepa, and 16 Kaepa teams and led the 15 Kaepa team to Nationals. She has led her teams to many top three finishes and championships in tournaments. Lyndsey played volleyball and basketball in high school earning various awards and went on to play collegiate volleyball at Hardin Simmons. She played setter, right side hitter, and libero during her volleyball career. Over the past five years, Lyndsey has hosted and assisted with high school camps and given private lessons to athletes in the Metroplex and surrounding areas. IMPACT certified.

Amber Cumbie - 15National/12National

Amber comes to Texas Assault with 9 years of experience coaching 17's and 18's with Ace Volleyball Club. Her 17's team qualified for Nationals in 2007. Her playing experience includes Brookhaven, club volleyball at UTA, and outdoor competition. Amber is CAP LEVEL I certified.

Jason Atwood - 14Kaepa

For the last 6 years I have been a Varsity coach in Oklahoma. The time before that I was a varsity head coach for 10 years at 3 different schools in California. Have coached the last 5 seasons of club in Oklahoma, coaching 17's for 4 years and 18's for one. I have been involved in Volleyball for 18 years as either a player or a coach and sometimes both. Have even been a high school official in California for 6 years.

Michaela Huff - 14National

Joanna Rathbun - 13Kaepa

Joanna's coaching experience includes Mid Cities (Tx), Thunder, and Force Volleyball clubs. She also spent 3 years at ESD, 2 at Richland, and 7 years at DCC. Currently coaching at Fairhill in Dallas. Coaches MS, JV and Varsity levels. She also conducts many private lessons. Joanna has been playing volleyball for 30 years. In high school she was MVP as a 10th grader, All-Conference, and All-District. She played on full scholarship at NIU for 2 years, and at NAIA Westmont where she earned All-conference 1st Team, All District, and All-American. Joanna also played in the WPVA from 1989-1991 and was an AVP qualifier in 2005-2008. She played internationally from 1985-1996 in Venezuela, the Philipines, China, Hong Kong, Barcelona, ....

Vanessa Simpson - 13National

Vanessa has been coaching volleyball for a total of 15 years. This includes time coaching with Texas Assault, University of Dallas, Brookhaven College, Richland College, and high school teams. She currently teaches elementary Physical Education in the Garland School District.

Marlene Erhing - 12 Kaepa

Marlene has 8 years of experience coaching club teams in the North Texas area. She has spent the last 2 years coaching the Texas Assault 13 and 14 Kaepa teams. Marlene has also been the head coach of the JV team at John Paul II High School. A 4 year varsity player, captain, and 2 year All-League at Paramount High School in California, she went on to play 2 years of volleyball at Cerritos College. During her college career, Marlene was ranked 3rd in Service Aces in the Southcoast Conference. Marlene is an American College of Sports Medicine Fitness Trainer and is IMPACT and CAP I certified.

18National - Tyrone Jenkins

This is Tyrone's first year with Assault and already making a great impression with parents and players. Collegiate Volleyball player: Graceland University 2 Time All American (Setter) Coaching experience: Current assistant coach, Middle Tennessee University. Coach Jenkins has helped build MTSU into a powerhouse in the Sun-Belt conference and its first ever top 25 in the nation rank. His current duties include training the middle blockers/liberos and setters. Coach Jenkins takes pride in training middle blockers, he has produced some top middle blockers that have come out of the Kansas City, St Louis, Tennessee areas. Coached at the collegiate level for 10 years, 12 years at the club level. While coaching at club level produced (18) Div. 1 players; (10) Div. 2 players; (10) NAIA players; and (4) Junior college players. Club director for Tennessee Lightning Volleyball Club for the past 3 years, of which he coached the 18 power team. Coached for Kirkwood Volleyball Club (St. Louis, MO) 1996-1997 where he lead the 18 power team to back to back junior national tournament appearances. Took the Mo-Kan Smack VBC (Kansas City, MO) to the Junior National Tournament 2000-2001. Coach Jenkins has also produced (3) Fab 50 volleyball players

Amanda Holdbrook - 14National Assistant

This will be Amanda’s 5th year coaching with Texas Assault. Amanda is a graduate of Texas Tech University and one of our one time player turn coaches. In High School, Amanda was 1st team All District Setter , Setter of Year , 3 year letterman, and 3 year Captian. Her philosophy is to train hard and train smart.

Gabriel Arradaza - 16Elite

This is Gabrial first year with Assault. he is currently a volleyball skill instructor at Granger Recreation Center Volunteers as a volleyball skill class assistant instructor at Granger Recreation Center. Previous coaching includes 4 seasons as Head coach for GVA. Has over 20years experience of playing volleyball indoor outdoor including in the Philippines. Coach Arradaza is IMPACT certified.

Sommer Johnson - 18K Assistant

Sommer starts her fifth year at Texas Assault. Graduating from Holliday High School, she was a three year letterman at Holliday, High School, receiving all district honors. While in high school she played for Red River Volleyball Club in Wichita Falls. She went on to graduate with a degree in Exercise Sports Science from Texas Tech University. After graduation she taught history and coached volleyball at Richardson North Junior High. She then moved on to JJ Pearce where she was the Varsity Assistant. Sommer is currently coaching and teaching at Schrade Middle School in Rowlett. She has coached 13’s, 14’s, and 16’s for Texas Assault, and is ready to begin the 2009-2010 season!
